New British Columbia Tax Requirements (Action Required)
Dear HVRP Partner,
As of October 1, 2018, all short-term rental stays in British Columbia are subject to the 8% Provincial Sales Tax (PST) on accommodation and, if the property is located in a participating area, up to 3% Municipal and Regional District Tax (MRDT). More details regarding PST and MRDT on accommodations, including a list of all areas which charge MRDT and description of exemptions, can be found in the BC Ministry of Finance’s online bulletin.
According to Provincial regulations, all BC short-term rental providers on HV Rental Properties platforms must register with the Province to collect and remit PST and MRDT for short-term rental bookings made through HV Rental Properties websites.
For information on how to add PST and MRDT to the taxes and fees collected from guests at the time of booking.
As a reminder, HV Rental Properties partners are responsible for remitting all applicable taxes and fees to the Province on bookings made on HV Rental Properties platforms.

Sharon was introduced by Renee noting that it was Sharon’s goal to create a better life for herself and her daughter, and to ensure a better standard of living for those among whom you reside. Sharon’s company – Le Natural Mall – promotes the attainment of a more cost-effective and organic living environment for individuals and their communities.
At our meeting, Sharon addressed one of the key elements in her vision – low cost energy efficiency. Some of the products her company is promoting have the ability to reduce energy costs by 50%! However, the avenues to these low-cost energy efficiencies according to Sharon are blocked by BC Hydro’s reluctance to include these items in their catalogue of items for which one could receive a subsidy or grant. She is presently with some school districts, on a pilot project basis, to compare the before and after cost profiles of using or not implementing her products.Sharon incorporated her company in February 2014, and is working hard with various companies, and professional groups to expand her business. To further explain the core aspect of her business, Sharon circulated information on an energy efficiency product line from ESP Communication. This electronic monitoring system has practical applications in the home, and for business as well.
Given her drive for a greener, organic community, using less energy, Sharon seems to be on the right track.Based in Abbotsford, Sharon currently employs 10 staff people, with at least 4 people involved in the research aspect of her business.

The San Tan Mountain Regional Park is a short drive to the east. The park consists of 10,198 acres and is a fine example of the lower Sonaran Desert. The park ranges in elevation from about 1,400 feet to over 2,500 feet. The Goldmine Mountain is located in the northern area with a spectacular view of the San Tan Mountain escarpment in the southern portion of the park. The vegation varies from crosote flats to dense saquaro forests. Various types of wildlife may be observed, including reptiles, birds, mammals and athropods. Sunsets are amazing….they also have night guided tours, check with the park for more details.

200 “Units” total are being made available for purchase at $2,000.00 per unit through a Private Placement Memorandum. Each “unit” will pay the purchaser of that unit or units a share of 3% of the gross sales of the Le Natural Mall. Live Better. Shop Local LTD (LNM) for the next five-years. This five-year period will be extended, if necessary, until a minimum total of 500% is paid back on each unit purchased. AMORTIZATION
Shorter amortizations can cost you less interest and help you pay off your mortgage sooner. Since we’re pointing out the obvious, we should also note that making a bigger down payment and buying a cheaper house save interest as well. This is the type of generic advice that some mortgage commentators like to give while applauding the recent amortization reductions. Few media types have acknowledged that extended amortizations are actually a valuable tool when used… intelligently.
It seems that publicly advocating longer amortizations has become semi-taboo, almost like promoting legalized marijuana. But a borrower’s best interests are absolutely not always served by the shortest mortgage. When choosing an amortization, folks must ask two questions right off the bat: (i) Can I comfortably afford my mortgage if rates rise 3%, and (ii) Is there a better use of my cash flow than making larger payments on my mortgage? If the answers to these questions are both yes, then the longest possible amortization may be appropriate. In truth, lower amortizations provide net savings only if you have no better alternatives for the money that would have gone towards paying down your principal.
To put it another way, eliminating your mortgage quicker can actually cost you money if: a) the return on your excess disposable income is greater elsewhere, and/or
b) you have insufficient contingency funds. Certain types of people need to pay extra attention to the opportunity costs of shorter amortizations. They include:
• Investment property owners (who need to minimize payments to maximize cash flow)
• Self-employed borrowers (who need to reinvest in their business)
• Commission earners (who need to build contingency funds for lean months)
• Investors (who invest in higher-returning assets)
• Families (who need to pad their contingency funds, pay down higher interest debt, top up registered retirement accounts, or build education savings).
So before you jump on a shorter amortization because talking heads say it’s the right thing to do, carefully consider if lower payments would further your financial goals more.

Your main goal is that the bride won’t ever get bored; the atmosphere needs to be always happy and exciting. You can cook a nice lunch, like a fancy brunch or an original pic nic. If you’re the one cooking the food, be careful to follow a theme: maybe the bride’s favorite color, or a special ingredient. If you want to make her laugh, just cook something she just hates from the bottom of her heart. Bring some good wine, but do not get overboard on the alcohol! Dinner time can be fancier and more polished. Choose a nice restaurant with an elegant style and all the bride’s favorite dishes! At the ending of the night, just bring her to a cool club or disco. Letting go on the dance floor is just what the bride needs to forget all about the pre-wedding stress!
